Max-Plus systems are systems that are "linear" in the Max-Plus algebra. These systems can be used to model timing and synchronization in communication and traffic management systems, queuing systems, production planning, et.c. This work characterized the stochastic stability and asymptotic growth of the state (see the Automatica paper 'Stochastic Stability in Max-Product and Max-Plus Systems with Markovian Jumps'). An application presented was the computation of the throughput (i.e., processing rate) of a production system with time-varying raw materials or recipes.
For this research, I cooperated with professors P. Maragos and G.P. Papavassilopoulos, at NTUA.
